Plein Air: Culver Paint Out

Since the 1950s, the Culver Rootbeer Stand (formerly known as A&W) has been a local hotspot for visitors and residents in the mood for some fries, burgers, and of course, ice cream!

Culver Paint Out - Plein Air

En plein air is a French expression meaning “in the open air”, and refers to the act of painting outdoors with the artist’s subject in full view. Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color and movement into their works.

The Town of Culver, IN will be hosting a plein air event, Culver Paint Out, for a three day weekend from September 23-25. Artists and visitors are invited to paint, observe, and enjoy the creativity and energy!

Friday, September 23: Registration/Canvas Stamping, Artists paint all day, Artist Donor Reception

Saturday, September 24: Registration/Canvas Stamping, Artists paint all day, Quick Paint at the Culver Farmers’ Market, Quick Paint Awards, Artist Dinner

Sunday, September 25: Artists paint in the morning, Judging and Awards/Purchase Prizes, Public Art Sale
